The future of the world is in our childrens' hands. Mission Trail supports youth initiatives through active participation in Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership (Awards) Conference, and the Brackenridge Interact Club.
Contact us for information about Rotary's Youth Exchange or any Rotary New Generations programs . The In Bound Program: Host families provide a lifetime experience to an international student and, in return, gain a life altering friendship. Students and host families are carefully screened, trained, and supported through Rotary's local and international resources. The Outbound Program: Local high school graduates participate in Rotary sponsored international exchange programs with other participating countries. While Rotary underwrites many of the expenses, exchange students are expected to provide a significant tuition. Long Term: Students live with host families and attend school with the families' kids. This exchange is normally nine months following graduation. Although attendance at school is expected, no educational credit is awarded. However, many students have been awarded college credit after returning because of improved language skills. Short Term: Students experience a true exchange program during the summer of graduation. Students spend three or four weeks with a family overseas and then return bringing their new "sibling" for an equal period to their Texas' family. |
